Year's Maximum Pensionable Earnings (YMPE) for 2020
The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) announced that the maximum pensionable earnings for 2020 will be $58,700. As previously announced, no changes will be made to the current contribution rates. The Sponsors Corporation (SC) will continue to regularly monitor the health of the plan to make OMERS a sustainable, affordable and meaningful plan over the long term.

Reminder: OMERS Sponsors Corporation Plan Changes
This is a reminder that the OMERS Sponsors Corporation (SC) passed amendments to the OMERS Primary Pension Plan (the Plan) in August 2017, some of which become effective as of January 1, 2020. Details regarding these changes can be found on the OMERS website.
You Asked, We Listened
Based on your feedback we have updated the Offer of OMERS Membership – Part-time Employee – Form 104 to require only one employee signature (instead of the two that were previously required). Eliminating the need for the second signature will help reduce the number of follow-ups required when it gets missed.

To support the successful completion of your annual reconciliation process, the OMERS Education and Training team has launched a series of workshops and webinars to help you learn the latest tips and helpful hints.
In person workshops are available at locations across the province and will be an opportunity for you to meet with fellow plan administrators and share best practices.
