OMERS commitment to pay benefits includes finding members with unclaimed benefits as well as ensuring our member information is accurate and complete. We have recently obtained the services of the National Search Unit (NSU) of Service Canada to help locate members who are no longer working for an OMERS employer but still have a benefit in the plan.
If you've received a letter from NSU, OMERS is looking for you for one of the two following reasons:
- Members receiving an OMERS pension: Recent attempts to contact you have failed and we need to verify your current contact information. Please contact OMERS immediately to avoid any disruption to your pension.
- Other members: You worked for an OMERS employer and were a member of the pension plan but you have never received the benefit you are entitled to. Please contact OMERS immediately to claim your benefit.
